IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Alfred Gail
Mccutchen
January 6, 1937 – July 21, 2021
Mr. Alfred "Babe" McCutchen, age 84, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on July 21, 2021. He was born on January 6, 1937 in Monticello, Kentucky to the late Montie and Lee McCutchen. Alfred was always fascinated by planes and even piloted a few in his younger years. Every year, he would purchase plane calendars to give away to his family and friends. Giving was something he was passionate about doing and he did it up until his last days. When he was working at Wal-Mart, he would often keep silver dollars in his pocket to give to kids. He would do anything he could to put a smile on someone's face. He was a strong man of faith and was never shy of that. He led many people through trying times by praying with them. He was the rock of the family and the true definition of a family man and was a great role model and a father figure to many. When time allowed, Alfred enjoyed fishing and tending to his garden, growing Lumpkin County's tastiest tomatoes.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice Louise McCutchen; brother, Davis McCutchen; and daughter, Cindy Horan.
He is survived by his daughter, Cheryl Equivel Lopez of Dahlonega; brother, Bruce (Kitty) McCutchen of Frankfort, KY; sister, Lytha (Daniel) Hughes of Somerset, KY; grandchildren, Anita Equivel Lopez, Codah Guerra, Nicole Reams, and Katelyn Roys; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Many friends also survive.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 27 th from 11AM until 12:45 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. A Graveside service will be held Tuesday, July 27 th at 1 PM at the Elk Spring Cemetery with Bro. Kurt Neeley officiating.
The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Alfred McCutchen Memorial Fund at the funeral home.
