From the loving arms of her family into the everlasting arms of Jesus, Alphie entered heaven where she looked upon the face of her Savior and Heavenly Father after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Many loved ones where there to greet her.
Alpha Mae Janieve Owens Kidd, 84, of Kingman, Indiana, formally from Indianapolis passed away on June 5, 2020. "Alphie" was born May 30, 1936 in White Oak Junction, Kentucky to the late John Ale and late Alpha Mae Owens. On April 4, 1953 she married the love of her life, Willard Kidd, who proceeded her in death June 3, 1990. The couple settled in Indianapolis where they raised their four children; Reba, Guy, Eliza and Dolores. Alphie was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was very proud of her family, including her 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.
She was a dedicated hard worker. Throughout the years she worked for Ritter Avenue Daycare and later retired from Alpha Delta Gamma House at Butler University in May of 2000. She enjoyed cooking real fried chicken, homemade biscuits and was always up early to prepare fresh eggs for anyone who stopped by. She had a passion for sharing her love of Jesus, reading her bible, gardening, canning and quilting.
Alpha was a member of Yeddo Baptist Church and formerly a member of Ritter Avenue Free Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Guy and Elzia (Brenda) Kidd and two daughters Reba Parsons and Dolores (Greg) Nester. As well as eight grandchildren, David (Mandy) and Mary Deerwester, Christina (Mark) Truxal, Catrina (Steve) Tomamichel, Jason and Joseph (Jessica) Kidd, Melinda Aughenbaugh and Chad Hueston; Seventeen great-grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one sister, Mary G. Copeland and nine brothers, Earl, Oscar, William, George, Edward, Alvin, John, ST, and Herbert Owens; one great-grandchild, Brenda Sue Hueston. She will be loved and missing by all whom knew her.
Burial will be at Kidd Cemetery, Monticello, Kentucky.
