'Alta Barrier Litton was born September 10, 1926 in the Steele Hollow Community of McCreary County, the daughter of the late Goldman and Nellie Ross Troxell. She passed away on Thursday morning, October 4th reaching an age of ninety-two years.
On January 28th, 1946, she united in marriage with Virgil Barrier. To this union four children were born; Paulette Blevins, Robert (Mary) Barrier, Gene (Marcia) Barrier, and Janette (Forrest) Sexton. She was a loving grandmother to nine grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Also surviving is her stepchildren; Judy McCoig, Jimmy Litton, and Diane Brown.
She is preceded in death by two husbands, Virgil Barrier and Ezra Litton. Three brothers; Lemon, Sterlin, and Gilbert Troxell - three sisters Mona Troxell, Stella Waters, and Maggie Martin.
Alta had accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of the Fall Creek Baptist Church.',
