Arlie Eugene Koontz, age 90 of Monticello, KY passed away on Monday, February 2, 2021 at Golden Years Nursing Home in Monticello.

Eugene was born April 14, 1930 in Monticello, KY to (the late) Porter Koontz and Amy Barnes Koontz.  He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.

He is survived by: his wife, Margie New Koontz; sister, Norma Brosmer of French Lick, IN.; sons, Donald (Linda) Koontz of Versailles and Paul (Michele) Koontz of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Kathy (Randy) Catron of Monticello; five grandchildren, Moriah Stonewall, Mandy Dodd, Mollie Zito, Jason Koontz and Andrew Koontz; niece, Karen Kemple; and 8 great grandchildren, Harper Zito, Sophia and Shelby Koontz, Kayla Stephens, Hannah Stonewall, Aslyn and Devin Sanders and Carson Dodd.

He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Helen Mills Koontz; and daughter Roseann Koontz.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 5, 2021 between 11 am – 12 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Friday, February 5, 2021 at 12 pm at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

The family has requested, in lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
