Audrey Mae (Keith) Edwards, 83, of Monticello, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025, at her home.

Audrey was born March 7, 1942, in Wayne County, Kentucky. She is the daughter of the late Critt and Myrtle (Morrow) Keith and the loving wife of the late A. Ralph Edwards, whom she married on September 30, 1962.

She is survived by two sons, Jonathan R. Edwards of Monticello and Jeffrey E. Edwards of Somerset, Kentucky. She is also survived by three sisters, Anna Lee Vaughn, Arlene Taylor and Georgia Dick, along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by brothers Virgil Morrow, Billy Joe Keith and Jimmy Keith; and sisters Sheila Kay Keith, Genive (Keith) Phillips and Ellen (Keith) Turner.

Audrey accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age and was a longtime member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

Audrey graduated from Wayne County High School in 1960. She attended Cumberland College and Eastern Kentucky University, where she earned a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She went on to earn her Master of Arts degree in education from Northern Kentucky University. Audrey was an elementary school teacher at Gallatin County Schools in Warsaw, Kentucky, and retired from Monticello Independent Schools in Monticello.

After retirement, Audrey enjoyed being a wife, working on the library at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, being a member of the Busy Bee's Homemaker's Club and the Wayne County Retired Teachers Association, taking care of her flowers, shrubs and garden.  She also enjoyed writing a book titled "A Collection of Treasured Events While Living at Bearskin."

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Mt. Zion Church Building Fund.

The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, 2025, in the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. in the chapel, with burial to follow in Elk Spring Cemetery.
