'Barbara Morris was born Jul, 28, 1938 in Monticello, Kentucky. She was the daughter of the late Marie and Gilmer Morris. She departed this life Saturday, November 29, 2014 at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Unit in Somerset.

Barbara graduated from Wayne County High School in 1956. She went to Cumberland College and graduated from the Junior College in 1958. Then she went to Western Kentucky University and received her BS and MA degrees.

Barbara taught her first school at Number Two in Monticello. She worked for social service for 4 years. After that she went to Daytona Beach, Florida where she worked for her Uncle Porter Young at the Treasure Island Inn. She came back to Monticello and taught six grade at Monticello Elementary for four years. She then returned to Nashville, Tennessee and taught for twelve years. After retiring, she returned to Monticello. She was a member of the Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma.

Surviving is her sister, Dolores Morris, with many good friends ad several cousins to mourn her passing.

She accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age at the Cooper Baptist Church. She later moved her membership to the First Baptist Church.
