Beatrice Jones was born June 27, 1926 and departed this life Monday, December 7, 2020 reaching the age of 94 years. She was the daughter of (the late) Simpson and Robertie (Burkes) Gilbert.

She married Homer Jones and to this union 11 children were born.

She is survived by: 4 daughters, Gloria (Glenn Keith) Decker, Faye (Danny) Coffey, Rosemary (Claude) Foster and Sylvia (Lyle David) Bell; 4 sons, Kenneth (Kathy) Jones, Dennis (Wilma) Jones, Porter Jones and Eddie (Kathy) Jones; 18 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; and 12 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Homer Jones; 1 daughter, Emma Jean Jones; 2 sons, Donnie Jones and Johnny Jones; 1 sister, Mollie Boyatt; and 3 brothers, Virgil, Dester and Dennis Gilbert.

Beatrice was a member of the Concord Baptist Church for many years and later attended the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

PRIVATE funeral services will be held Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Burkes-Foster Cemetery.

Due to the current covid-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. As the number of attendees is limited to 25 people only, a list will be provided to the funeral home by the family. You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines. No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time.
