'Billy Breeding, age 87 was born November 19th, 1924 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of the late Robert Garnett Breeding and Carrie Burton Breeding. He passed away Monday morning at the Wayne County Hospital following an extended illness.

On June 14, 1946 he united in marriage with Lucy Mae Back Breeding who passed away August 23, 2007. Surviving are two sons: Dr. William G. Breeding and his wife Sue and Dr. Martin Breeding and wife Linda all of Monticello.

Also surviving are grandchildren: William H. Breeding; Mary Garnett Zollner and husband Chris; step grandson: Jason Blythe; step great grandchildren: Mason Zollner; Olivia and Lillian Blythe.

He is preceded in death by his sister: Carolyn Graham and brother: Dr. Robert Breeding.

Mr. Breeding, a local businessman was the owner of Breeding Furniture and Appliance; Monticello Cable Company and Russell County Cablevision. He served his community on City Council of Monticello and the Monticello School Board; served on the Board of Directors of the Peoples State Bank and the Monticello Air Board. He was a very active member of the Monticello First Christian Church where we was an Elder and Deacon.
