'Bobby Gene Elam, age 77 was born in the Oil Valley Community, September 25, 1933 the son of the late Montie and Ida Lexie Cooper Elam. He departed this life Sunday afternoon at his home after an extended illness.

On December 27, 1952 he united in marriage with his surviving wife of 58 years, Ethel Joe Wright Elam. To this union three children survive: Robert and his wife Lisa Elam; Perry and wife Randy Elam; Rebecca and her husband Tony Saylor. His son, William passed away in 2004

Also surviving are his grandchildren: Landon, Lance, Bryce, Paul, Wesley, Tanner, Brittany, Suzanne and Kenny: great grandchildren; Zackary, Cassidy, Megan, Carlee Rae, Paislee Grace, Katelyn, Kaylee, Chuck and Kara.

He is preceded in death by his brother, Carl Elam.

Bobby was retired from the State of Kentucky Highway Department. He had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of the Elk Spring Valley Baptist Church.
