Bobby Lee West was born into this life on April 11, 1935 to the late William and Eliza West and took his final breath at his home with his family by his side on Sunday, November 19, 2023 reaching the age of 88.

He was joined in marriage to Lula Mae Tucker West on March 20, 1955. In 1956 Bob and Lula moved to Indianapolis where he worked as a welder for Builders Specialty and Hardware. Bob also operated B&L Door Services, installing commercial doors. In Indianapolis, the couple attended Lifegate Baptist church, where he served as a deacon for 17 years.  In 1991 the couple retired and moved back to their hometown of Monticello. Bob was a member of the Meadow Creek Baptist Church where he served as a Bible class teacher and deacon for 32 years.

While retired Bob enjoyed farming and traveling with his wife. Bob was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and most of all a devoted follower of Christ and will be missed by all who knew him.

Bob is survived by his two daughters Sandy (Bill) Riddle and Norma (Curtis) Lasley. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Jennifer (Scotty) Sexton, Stephanie (Gary) Marshall, Matthew (Kim) Lasley, and Jessica (Bradley) Harris; 10 great-grandchildren Austin (Felecia), Kaitilyn, and Hannah Sexton, David (Alexis) and Sarah Marshall, Lindsey and Zachary Lasley, Luke, Alleigh, and Amelia Harris; and 1 great-great-granddaughter Maggie Sexton; and one sister Betty Norris.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife Lula West, parents William and Eliza West, and brother David West.

The family will receive friends on Friday, November 24th from 11am until 2PM in the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel with funeral services following at 2PM. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Meadow Creek Baptist Church.
