'Bro. George Lee Shelton, was born in Wayne County, January 20, 1923 the son of the late George Lee and Ila Maupin Shelton Sr. He departed this life, Sunday evening, February 7, 2016 at the Livingston Regional Hospital.

On June 1st, 1946 he united in marriage with, Rena Pearl Jordan Shelton who passed away November 15th 2015. To this 69 year union one daughter survives, Eleanor and her husband Barry Reynolds of Campbellsville, Kentucky.

Also surviving is one sister, Aileen Dabney with several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his siblings: Elizabeth Caylor, Lafayette Shelton and an infant brother, James Shelton.

Bro. Shelton had accepted Christ as his Savior as a young man. His walk with the Lord led him into a special call of the God and he surrender into the Ministry, a call he remained faithful in throughout his life. He and Rena were beloved members of the Monticello First Baptist Church.
