'Bruce Hoit Bertram, age 77 was born in the Sumpter community of Wayne County, March 1, 1936 the son of the late Claude and Perna Elam Bertram. He departed this life, Sunday morning, April 28, at his home on Elm Street.

On April 4, 1964 he united in marriage with, Norma Lois Morgan Bertram who survives. To this union four children survive: Sandra Taylor, Barbara Nixon, Carla Lowry and Brandon Bertram.

Also surviving are five grandchildren: Tara Young, Dylan Taylor, Corbin Nixon, Logan Nixon, Tyler Lowry and a great granddaughter: Dazlan Young; and his sister: Thersa Hicks.

He is preceded in death by his siblings: Christine Jenkins and in infant brother, Avery Bertram.

Bruce was retired from Monticello Hardwood where he worked as a sawyer and was a member of the Mossy Gap Baptist Church in Whitley County.
