'Bruce Gossage, age 72 was born December 31, 1935 the son of the late Bluford and Florence Turner Gossage. He lost his battle with cancer, Thursday morning, February 28th at his home on North Main Street.

He united in marriage with Mary Elizabeth McKay Gossage, October 23, 1959. To this union two children survive; Kista Kay and her husband Jerry New and Rory Bruce and his wife Susie Gossage all of Monticello.

Also surviving are four grandchildren; Erica Lovett, Ashley Baker, Shelby Bruce and Tori Gossage; four great- grandchildren, Deshae Lynn, Tyler Allen, Brianna Madison ad Carley Jade ; sisters, Reba Wallen and Mildred Ballenger and his brother Lester Gossage.

He is preceded in death by his siblings, Carlie, Finis and Elvas Gossage, Verla McKinley and Beulah Coffey.

Bruce honorably served his country in the Army in the mid 1950-s. He was employed 39 years at the Monticello Manufacturing Company before retiring in July 1996.

He was a member of Monticello Lodge #431 and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
