'Carol June Guffey Simpson, age 61 was born in Wayne County, May 13, 1946 the daughter of the late Melvin and Bonnie Frost Guffey. She departed this life, Tuesday morning, April 1st at the Wayne County Hospital.

On April 13th 1961 she united in marriage with Bro. Darrell Ray Simpson who passed away May 24th, 2007. To this union one son survives, Timothy Ray and his wife Tammy Simpson. Her son Kevin precedes her in death.

Also surviving is her granddaughter, Nikki and her brother, Lyle Guffey with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

Her sisters, Barbara Sue and Mildred Guffey and brother Harold Guffey precedes her in death.

As a young lady, Carol accepted Christ as her savior and served her Lord as a Pastor-s wife and member of the Taylor-s Grove Baptist Church.
