Catherine "Cathy" Yvonne Hutchinson, age 67, departed from this life on August 28th, 2024 at her care home in Monticello, KY.

Cathy was born on December 26, 1956, to the late Wilbert Henry Niersmann and Frances Marie Williams. Cathy is preceded in death by her father and her late husband, Rex Nelson Hutchinson.

Cathy is survived by her mother, five siblings, her daughters, Dorothy (Ibrahim) Bouzouma and Nicole (Derek) Chaplin, her son Christopher Michael Niersmann, numerous grandchildren, and the many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren of her late husband, whom she cherished as her own.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant, Cathy dedicated her career to caring for the elderly, showing kindness and compassion in every interaction. Her hobbies included shopping, a love for music, decorating, attending church, and creating lasting memories with her friends and family. Cathy was an avid KY Wildcats fan!

A devoted member of Mt. Zion AME Church in Frazer, KY, Cathy found solace and community within its walls. Her baptism on April 9, 2000, marked the beginning of many years of faithful service and stewardship.

In life Cathy was known for her unwavering work ethic, persistence, and "can-do" attitude. Her zest for life and belief in endless possibilities radiated in all that she did, inspiring those around her to embrace adventure and live fully.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 4th, from 9:30am-11:00am in the chapel of Hickey Funeral Home with a remembrance service to follow immediately afterwards. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion AME Cemetery in Frazer, KY.
