Obituary
'Cecil Frank Denney, age 92 was born in the Denney community of Wayne County, July 30, 1917 the son of the late Walter J. and Gertie Lair Denney. He departed this life Wednesday evening at the Golden Years Nursing Home after an extended illness.
On November 13, 1940 he united in marriage with Ova Correll Denney who passed away April 18, 2005. To this 64 year union three sons survive; Herman Darrell and his wife Ruby Denney, Troy and his wife Ann Denney and Jackie and his wife Helen Denney. His son Randolph and Phillip Dean Denney precedes him in death.
Also surviving are his daughter-in-laws Thelma and Betty Denney; eight grandchildren, two step grandchildren and ten great grandchildren, one step grandchild precedes him in death.
Cecil was the last survivor of the Walter and Gertie Denney family. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Gertie Denney, Ethel Denney, Pauline Denney, Marie Callahan, Walter, Ernest, Elwood, Elbert, Warren and Walter Denney Jr.
As a young man Cecil accepted Christ as his Savior and united with the First Turkey Creek Baptist Church and was a member of the Clay Hill Baptist Church at the time of his passing.
