'Cecil Martin was born October 22, 1931 in Knott County, Kentucky. He passed away April 25th, 2012 at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital, reaching the age of 80 years, following a lengthy illness. He is finally at peace.
He is preceded in death by his mother Pearla Martin, and his loving Grandparents who raised him, Ben \u0026 Delilah Martin.
He is survived by his wife of thirty two years, Sherry (Poeppelmeier) Martin; daughter Linda (Martin) Littell, spouse Charles; adopted daughter Donna Martin, spouse Alison Edwards; his sister: Ann Johnson and spouse Kenneth Johnson; grandchildren, Sarah L. (Brake) McKenna, spouse John McKenna; Andrea L. Brake; and James L. Brake; great-grandson Kaleb J. McKenna; his brothers-in-law: Lee Poeppelmeier, spouse Joyce; Mark Poeppelmeier, spouse Dara; as well as loving nieces and nephews and many wonderful loving friends.
Services will be held at 2 PM Saturday, April 28th, in the Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the Elk Spring Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11: AM to 2: PM at Hickey \u0026 Son Funeral Home, 340 North Main Street, Monticello, KY 42633.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wayne County Humane Society.
Military Honors will be given by the Monticello Chapter DAV 105.
