Obituary

'Charles Frederick Cooper was born April 10, 1936 the son of Thomas Gerald and Mae Sharpe Cooper. On January 1, 1956, he was united in marriage to Betty Castello Cooper who survives.

He is also survived by two sons: Charles Michael and his wife Beverly Cooper of Lexington and James Thomas Cooper of Monticello. He also leaves five grandsons; Nicholas Alan, Benjamin Michael, Jacob Hershael, Samuel Henry and Zachary Thomas Cooper all of Lexington and five great grandchildren.

Charlie was an eighth generation Wayne Countian and was proud to be descended from one of the county\u0027s earliest settlers, Revolutionary War Veteran, George Fredrick Cooper.

He had accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monticello. Charlie was a strong Democrat and an avid fisherman. He was the longtime owner of the City Pool Hall and was in the construction business in his younger years. Charlie was a three-term member of the Monticello Independent Board of Education.

Visitation:
Thrusday from 5 to 9 and Friday until 10 at the Funeral Home and Saturday from 11 to 1 at the Church

Funeral:
1PM Friday in the Sactuary of the First Baptist Church
