'Corbin Lee \u0027Bud\u0027 Hammond was born in the Delta community of Wayne county, July 9th, 1943 the son of the late Corbin Lee and Vada Branscum Hammond Sr. He departed this life Tuesday, February 23, 2016 at the Wayne County Hospital.

On October 14, 1989 he united in marriage with his surviving spouse, Susan Logar Hammond. Surviving are children: Connie Hammond of Winston-Salem, NC; Michelle Johnson of Lowton, OK; Larry Rush of Waynesboro, PA; Tracy Vereb of Monticello, KY; Becky Ryan of Media, OH and Jimmy Ryan of Monticello, KY.

Also surviving are grandchildren: Steve Hammond, Erica Vaughn, Melissa Vereb, Kasey Martin, Madison Thomas, Holly Vereb, Ellie Rush, Greg Ryan and Maxwell Rush; six great-grandchildren and one brother, Paul Hammond.

He is preceded in death by his siblings: Helen New, Lucy New, Cecil, Warren, David and Jesse Hammond.

He served his country with honor in the Army and served his Lord as a member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church.
