'Corda Tamsey Young Branscum, was born January 4, 1931 in the4 Flossie community of Wayne County, the daughter of the late Eli Gilse and Rilda New Young. Corda passed away Saturday, May 25th at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care unit in Somerset.
On December 23, 1948 she united in marriage with her husband William Delbert Branscum who passed away April 25, 1989. To this union four children survive: Ralph Wayne Branscum, Marilyn Sue and her husband Larry Elam, Debra June and husband Gleason Foster, and Carla Faye and her husband Jonny Baughman. Her children: Dwight Lynn and Wille Ray Branscum precedes her in death.
Also surviving are her sisters: Anna Grace Roth and Lenna Mae Houchens with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews many other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.
She is preceded in death by her siblings: Clella Hardwick, Mable Branscum, Arthur Young, Etta Horton, Roy Young, Estill Young, Denver Young, Billy Young and three that passed away in infancy: George, Willie and Ola.
Corda and Delbert ran Branscum Store and after Delbert's passing, she continued to operate the store until her health began to fail. AS a young lady she accepted Christ as her Savior and became a member of the Zion Baptist Church and was a member of the Lower Turkey Creek Baptist Church at the time of her passing.',
