'Dallas Smiley New, age 72 was born January 29, 1939 the son of the late Luther and Dora Lair New. He departed this life, Monday, April 25th at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset.

He was united in marriage with Lucy Hammond New who precedes him in death. Surviving is his wife of seven years, Rita Aldena Morrow New.

Surviving are his daughters: Beverly Michener of Springfield, Ohio and Hope Wilkinson of Mesa, Arizona. His children Timmy New and Debbie Tisler precedes him in death. Also surviving is his sister: Lavonne Borges and brother: Donald New: grandchildren; Josh Ellis, Michael Lyons and Harrison Orr.

His surviving step children: Cynthia Bell, Lisa New and Clayton Godsey: step grandchildren; Kasey Roll, Hanna Dodson, Bradley and Jared New, Calvin and Trenton Godsey and a step great grandchild: Zaidyn Roll.

Preceding him in death are his sisters: Zilpha Bolen, Mable Carrender, Rosa Russell, Delta Phillips and Diana New and brothers: Hobart and Ottis New.

Dallas was a retired auto worker with the Ford Motor Company. He had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of the Cedar Hill Baptist Church
