Obituary

'David Allen Tucker, born November 27th, 1951 in Somerset, Kentucky to Gatha Smith Tucker and the late Wendell Tucker, departed this life on Wednesday, March 14th, 2018 at his home after a brief and sudden battle with cancer, reaching the age of sixty-six years.
David united in marriage to Iris Elaine Dobbs on July 27, 1970 and to this forty-eight-year union two children survive; Joey Allen (Larissa) Tucker and Shawn David (Rachael) Tucker. Also surviving are his mother; Gatha Smith Craig, his brother; Donnie (Janet) Tucker, and his sisters; Tonia (Danny) Tucker, and Lana Tucker along with his four grandchildren; Angel Tucker, Haylee Reagan Tucker, Shaylee Tucker and Jenna Tucker. David also has many other family including his Aunt Julie, his uncle Jimmy, nieces, nephews, cousins, and his beloved friends. His legacy is our gift: He loved life, worked hard, was always honest and ethical in business, and provided for his family. He will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his father, Wendell, he is also preceded in death by his sister; Sharon Tucker; his grandparents; Corbett and Lizzie Tucker and Ernest and Martha Smith; his step father John Craig; and his step grandmother, Evelyn Baker Tucker.
David and his wife Elaine are both retired from the Chrysler Corporation having worked in New Castle and then Kokomo, Indiana. They also worked together at Belden Wire and Cable in Monticello, Kentucky. He was the former owner and operator of Tucker\u0027s Archery and Taxidermy with two locations in Monticello, Kentucky and New Castle, Indiana.
He accepted Christ as Lord and Savior and was baptized on August 26, 1961 and became a member of Big Springs Baptist Church in Burfield, Kentucky where he currently belonged. He served as past President of the Wayne County Sportsman\u0027s Club in Monticello, loved to hunt, enjoyed bow target shooting and traveled to IBO World bow shoots in Alabama and West Virginia with his friends.
Funeral Service will be held Sunday, March 18, 2018, 1 PM, at the Hickey and Son Funeral Home Chapel in Monticello. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday, March 17, 2018, 5-9 PM and on Sunday from 11 AM to 1 PM. Burial will follow the service at Elk Spring Cemetery in Monticello. Pall Bearers will be Ronnie Watkins, Jr., Tim Watkins, Kenny Hardwick, Don Gregory, Gary Gregory, Paul Slagle, Carter Burnett, and Kyle Burnett. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Wayne County Rescue Squad in Monticello in memory of David Tucker.',
