'David Wayne Koontz Jr, age 56, was born, December 24, 1957 the son of David H. and Evalene Troxell Koontz Sr. who survives. He departed this life, Wednesday afternoon at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center in Somerset.

On December 18, 1976, he united in marriage with his surviving wife of 37 years; Donna June New Koontz.

Also surviving is his sister: Diane Lee and brothers: Randall and Darrell Koontz with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends to mourn his passing.

David had accepted Christ as his Savior and served his Lord as a Deacon of the Spann Hill Baptist Church. He served his community as a deputy Sherriff for 21 years and retired a deputy Jailer for the Department of Corrections.
