'Della Foster Roberts, age 85 was born in the Ritner community of Wayne County, November 6, 1927 the daughter of the late Mathis Finley and Eva Thompson Foster. She departed this life, Wednesday June 26, afternoon at the Golden Years Nursing Home after an extended illness.

On February 3, 1944 she united in marriage with her husband of 54 years, Raymond Roberts who passed away January 7, 1999. To this union four children survive: Virginia Flynn, Eugene and his wife Mary Lois Roberts, Diane and husband Elbert Sutton and Dewayne Roberts.

Also surviving is her sister: Doris and husband Perry Shortridge; seven grandchildren: Joe Flynn, Kenny Flynn, Violet (Chris) Helton, Chris (Toshia) Roberts, Eli Roberts, Brian Sutton and Kaylee A. Bell; two step grandchildren: Sara (Danny) Beaty and Lorie (Bo)Stearns six great grandchildren: Joseph S. Flynn, Austin and Duncan Finch, Ariel, Gabriel and Isaiah Roberts; eleven step great grandchildren: Jacob, Isaac, Payton and Kaylee Stearns, Valeria, Dylan, Vanessa, Daniel and Victoria Beaty, Jeremy and Ashley Helton with a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends to mourn her passing.

As a young lady Della accepted Christ as her Savior and was a lifetime member of the Lick Creek Baptist Church. She was a housewife and a wonderful mother to her children, grand and great grandchildren.
