Obituary
'Derek Allen Rose, age 31, was born in Monticello, June 29, 1978 the son of Bro. Dale and Millie Dixon Rose. He suddenly departed this life, Saturday September 26th at his home in Mt. Sterling.
On August 18th, 2006 he united in marriage with his surviving spouse, Stephanie Lynn George.
Also surviving are his siblings, Jeremiah Rose of Virginia and Haley Rose of Monticello; two nieces, Abigail Elizabeth and Gabrielle Adaya Rose; his grandparents, Zadie Samuels, Joan and Wayne Marlow and Donald and Barbara Dixon; great grandmother, Ruby Chitwood; aunts and uncles, Lana Brainard, John Dixon, Jeanna Bates, Chad Dixon, Donald Sheldon Dixon and Jeremy Dixon.
Derek had accepted Christ as his savior as a young man at the Branham Grove Baptist Church in Cumberland County and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Monticello at the time of his passing.
Visitation:
5-9 PM Monday at Funeral Home. 11 to 1 Tuesday at the Church.

1 PM Tuesday at the First Baptist Church
