Dester Dobbs of Monticello, Kentucky was born May 3rd,1930 and departed this life Sunday June 25,2023 reaching the age of 93 years. He was the son of the late Olie and Laura Decker Dobbs and husband of Edith Coffey Dobbs.

He is survived by two daughters; Delilah (Jonathan) Foster, Joy Melissa (Kevin) Kidd, one son; Dee Dobbs, one brother; Roger Dobbs, two grandchildren; Jennifer (Brandon) Wilhite Guffey, Chloe Madeline Kidd, and one great grandchild; Everly Guffey.

Along with his wife, he was preceded in death by two sisters; Vena Corder, Levina Bell, and one brother; Vesper Dobbs.

Dester had accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior many years ago and was a member of the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church where he served as Deacon for many years.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 30th from 11AM until 1PM in the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 30th at the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church at 2PM. Burial will be in the Mt. Carmel Church Cemetery.
