­­­­­­­­­­­­­Edith Christine (Crabtree) Corder, age 92 years and 7 Months, was born on June 15, 1932. She was the daughter of the late Willie Crabtree and Leila (Martin) Crabtree. She departed this life on Monday, January 13, 2025, very peacefully and fast, which was a blessing from God.

On February 10, 1950, she was united in marriage to William C Corder, who passed away, April 1986. To this union, one daughter was born, Lynetta Corder.

Christine was of the Baptist faith and a long-time member of Canada Creek Baptist Church on Coopersville. She was saved at an early age

Christine was the 5th child of Willie and Leila Crabtree, being one of 6. She was proceeded in death by 5 of them. Ernie Wendall and Forrest passed away in infancy. Ray Crabtree (Glenna), Wilma Russell (Andrew) and Dallas Crabtree, all preceded her in death. Christine was the last living heir of the John Crabtree and Willie Crabtree generation.

Christine is survived by One daughter: Lynetta Corder; One granddaughter: Beth Pyles Craig (Casey) and one 5-year-old Great Grandson: Connor Craig. Her great grandson was the love of her life and was the most important thing to her.

She is also survived by a friend, that was dear to her, Scott Greer who called her mother.

Christine also had several nieces and relatives who survived as well, she loved them all. She loved to talk and never met a stranger. In her later years, Christine became very disabled and frail and was ready to go to heaven to be with her Lord.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend and relative. She will be missed by all that knew her.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from 11 AM – 2 PM in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 16, 2025, at 2 PM at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
