'Elma Louise Jones, age 66, was born in the Coffey Mountain community of Wayne County, July 17th, 1941. She was the daughter of the late Wonzie and Eva Taylor Smith. She lost her battle with cancer, Thursday, January 17th, 2008 at her home in Sumpter community.

On August 16th, 1957 she united in marriage with her husband, Paul Edwin Jones, who survives. To this union one son, Edwin Lee and his wife Mary Jones survives.

Also surviving are two grandchildren; John Casey Edwin Jones and Janey Louise Emarine Jones; two step grandchildren, Tom Ledger and Renee- Thompson and four great-grandchildren, Brittany, Brandie, Jordan and Olivia. Surviving are three sisters, Wanda Marcum, Delma Chriswell and Joyce Dobbs and her brother, Hershel Smith.

Her sister, Velma Ina Criswell, brother, Elward Smith and three infant siblings precede her in death.

Mrs. Jones had accepted Christ as her savior and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church.
