'Eugene Ray \u0027Gene\u0027 Lewis was born February 3, 1944 the son of the late Walter Ray and Mildred Sexton Lewis. He departed this life suddenly, Friday, August 19th at the University of Kentucky Hospital in Lexington reaching an age of 72.

On November 16, 1963 he united in marriage with his surviving wife of fifty-three years: Shirley Perkins Lewis. To this union two children survive: Kelly and her husband Scott Sinnott of West Layfette, Indiana and Mark and his wife Sarah Lewis of Rushville, Indiana.

Also surviving are five grandchildren: Hayley Sinnott, Mason Lewis, McKenna Sinnatt, Erin Sinnott and Maddison Lewis; siblings: Nancy Stockton, Billy (Laine) Lewis, Tom (Eugenia) Lewis and Dianne (Denny) Patterson. He is preceded in death by two siblings who passed away in childhood: Richard and Ronald Lewis.

Gene was retired from Dana Perfect Circle after 33 years. Gene was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church for 46 years in New Castle; a member of Apostolic Praise in Florida and Jesus Name Apostolic in Monticello.

Sunday evening from 5 to 8 in the Funeral Home Chapel and Monday from 11 to 1 at the Church
