­­­­­­Evelyn "Cricket" Hurt was born December 29, 1928, and departed this walk of life Thursday, February 5, 2026, reaching the age of 97 years. She was the daughter of the late Henry and Woody (Burris) Guffey.

She is survived by her sisters: Elsie Hicks, Gladys Story (Ralph), Doris Tucker and Betty Rains; Sister-in-laws: Joann Guffey, Irene Guffey and Glada Hurt; Brother-in-laws: Denver Hurt and David Hurt. Along with many nieces, nephews and friends that mourn her passing

In addition to her parents Henry and Woody (Burris) Guffey; she was preceded in death by her husband: Wilby Hurt; Brothers: Bradley Guffey, Cecil Guffey and Montie Guffey; Sisters: Reba Blackburn and Lucy Guffey.

She was a loving sister, aunt and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 10 AM – 1 PM in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 1 PM at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Old Bethel Bible Church Cemetery.
