Evelyn McGinnis, age 92 of Monticello, Kentucky passed away Monday, July 26 ^th ,2021 at her residence.

She was born December 6 ^th , 1928 in Rossville, Illinois, the daughter of the late Jess and Marie Guffey Chaplin.

She is survived by one son; Tim (Karen) McGinnis, one brother; Murl Chaplin, one sister; Patty Claywell, and one daughter in law; Janice Chaplin, five grandchildren; Scott Denney, Kristy Hardwick, Heather Morris, Coty McGinnis, and Ashley McGinnis, and three great grandchildren; Prezlee Morris, Paxton Morris, and Finn McGinnis.

She was preceded in death by; one son; Ronnie Chaplin, one daughter; Carol Denney,  three brothers; Earl Chaplin, Melvin Chaplin, Bob Chaplin, and five sisters; Virginia "Ginny" Knoreal, Loxie Lewis, Viola King, Bonnie Curtis, and Katy Chaplin.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 29 ^th , 2021 between 5pm - 8pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 30 ^th , 2021 at 11am at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Darrell Ragan officiating. Burial will be in the Gap Creek Cemetery.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to Hospice of Lake Cumberland.
