Fayrene Jones Meadors, 82, died February 6, 2021 at the Wayne County Hospital due to COVID complications.
Fayrene was born on May 5, 1938 in Wayne County Kentucky to Bro. Ora and Dina (Corder) Jones. She graduated from Wayne County High School in 1956, and continued to get her degree in Special Education. She had a huge heart for everyone, especially her school kids. She went to great lengths to make sure they were protected and treated fairly. She taught with such passion which showed from the love of her students. Fayrene retired from Wayne County High School after teaching 24 years.
Fayrene was an active member at the Pisgah Baptist Church. She loved reading her Bible and studying the word. She was a positive impact on those around her and prayed vigorously for anyone in need. Fayrene didn't worry about herself as much as she did everyone else. She knew where she was going when her time was up, but she worried about the lost and not doing enough to help. She was a positive influence on the community and family.
Fayrene's interest included family, quilting, cooking, antiques and keeping those wheels rolling.
Fayrene was proceeded in death by her son, Bryan Lane Meadors and her sister, Lorene Jones Miller Davis.
She is survived by her two sisters, Josephine Cooper and Edna Lee Frost, her two brothers, James Wiley Jones and Ross Willard Jones. She has fourteen nieces and nephews and ten great nieces and nephews
Fayrene will be sadly missed by all relatives and friends!
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 14, 2021 between 12 pm – 2 pm in the chapel of the funeral home. Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 14, 2021 at 2 pm at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel (Facebook Live stream will begin at 1:45pm) . Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to: Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines. No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time. Please feel free to sign the online guestbook or send a private condolence message through out website.
