'Fletcher Slagle age 82 was born in the Slickford community of Wayne County, December 21, 1931 the son of the late Charles Moie and Ollie Morgan Slagle. He passed away, Tuesday afternoon, July 8, 2014 in the St. Joseph Hospital in Lexington.

On April 19, 1958 he united in marriage with his wife of 56 years, Bonnie Jean Upchurch Slagle, who survives. To this union three children were born; two surviving daughters: Rebecca and her husband Danny Correll and Melissa Richardson. Their daughter: Cassie passed away in infancy.

Also surviving are three grandchildren: Whitney Richardson, Hilary (Ryan) Preece and Logan Richardson and a great granddaughter: Brooklyn Victoria Lowery. His three surviving brothers are: Warren, Hershel and Jason Slagle.

Fletcher was preceded in death by his only sister: Dica Mae McGlocklin and brothers: Caleb, Lee, Lincoln and Lester Slagle.

A construction worker and machinery operator he was employed by the Monticello Machine Shop for many years.
