Flonnie O. New was born November 29, 1931 and departed this life Thursday, December 31, 2020 reaching the age of 89 years. She was the daughter of (the late) Esker and Ethel (Whitehead) Phillips.

She married Elbern New and to this union 4 children were born.

She is survived by: 1 daughter, Sheila (Larry) Simpson; 1 son, Boyce (Geraldine) New; 1 brother, Delmer Phillips; 14 grandchildren, Sharon Hardin, Ricky New, Rodney New, Jeanie Phillips, Cindy New, Pamela Bell, Boyce New, Jr., Whitney Dick, Thomas Simpson, Jeremy, Bubby, Jessica, Jonathan and Scottie; 24 great grandchildren; and 2 great-great grandchildren; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Elbern New; 2 sons, Connie and Darrell New; 3 sisters, Yvonna Davis, Rosie Phillips and Eathel Phillips; and 4 brothers, Ervin, Gilbert, Gillard and Junior Phillips.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 3, 2021 between 5 pm - 8pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Monday, January 4, 2021 at 10 am at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the Clay Hill Church Cemetery.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some restrictions for service attendance. You are asked to please wear a mask or facial covering and observe the social distancing guidelines. No communal food or drinks are allowed at this time.
