Obituary

Fred William Crabtree, age 75 of Monticello, KY, passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at St. Joseph East in Lexington, KY.

He was born July 9, 1945 in the Sumpter Community of Wayne County; the son of (the late) Fred Moses and Lucy (Meredith) Crabtree.

He married Imogene (Dean) Crabtree on December 20, 1969, who survives him in death.

He is survived by: his wife, Imogene Crabtree; 1 son, Fred Dewayne (Carolina) Crabtree; 2 daughters, Lynn (David) Simpson and Michelle (Gary) Gibson; 4 brothers, Bill, Stanley, Wayne and Jerry Crabtree; 2 sisters, Anna Malone and Lillie Catron; 9 grandchildren, Donnie Lawson, Nicole Pinkerton, Kristianna Phillips, Ashley Troxell, Holly Hill, Fred Dewayne Crabtree, Jr., Trey Powell, Elias and Roman Gibson; and 12 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: 2 sisters, Mamye Burnett and Barbara Ann Crabtree; and 3 great grandchildren, Damon & Raymon Troxell and Gideon Dee Hill.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 3, 2020 between 10 am – 1 pm in the chapel of the funeral home.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020 at 1 pm at the Hickey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in the New Sandusky Cemetery.

Due to the current COVID-19 situation, and upon recommendations from the Governor's Office for Funeral Homes, there will be some limitations and restrictions for service attendance. Please feel free to sign the online guestbook or send a private condolence message through our website.
