'Gene Autry Corder, was born, April 2, 1934 the son of the late Freeman and Etta Anderson Corder. He passed away early Wednesday morning at the Gene Waddle Hospice Care Center reaching an age of 84 years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ellen Varner Corder who passed away, June 28th, 1990. To this union four children survive: Laura and husband, Lance Engelhard; Donna and her spouse Jeff Pettiglio; Scott and Sandra Corder and Don Corder.
Also surviving is his special friend Eunice Anderson, his grandchildren:, Austin Bryant Corder, Nicole Brittany Meredith, and Logan Grey Corder and great grandchildren: Chloe, Korbyn and Olivia Grace; and brothers: Scott Denzel, George and Gary Corder.
His brothers: Jack, Joe and Troy Corder precede him in death.
Family would like to express their deepest appreciation to all of the staff at the Jean Waddle Hospice Care Center and Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital especially Dr. Mohamed Younis for the continues loving care. Gene served his country with honor in the Navy retiring in 1975. He was also a lifelong member of the Fall Creek Baptist Church.
