'Gertrude Grubb Lee, age 91 was born in Clay County, Kentucky, June 18th, 1917 the daughter of the late George Washington and Maggie Miller Grubb. She departed this life Sunday, May 10th, 2009 at the Wayne County Hospital.

On March 2, 1935 she united in marriage with William Frank Lee, who passed away September 29, 1997. To this 62 year union nine children survive; William Preston and his wife Elaine Lee of Sherman, Texas; Robert E and his wife Barbara Lee, Jean and her husband Ronnie Collins and Barbara and her husband Don Wright all of Connersville, Indiana; Ralph and his wife Carol Lee of Columbus, Indiana; Shirley and her husband Lige Baldwin of Kodak, Tennessee; Bonnie and her husband Darrell Ragan of Monticello, Kentucky; Gary -Butch- and his wife Vonda Lee of Dandridge, Tennessee; Carol and her husband Don Russell of Graham, Texas.

Also surviving are 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren; four sisters, Pauline Coldiron, Dorothy Hurley, Aletta Collier and Rose Robinson and two brothers, George Grubb Jr. and Everett Grubb.

She is preceded in death by her husband, her son Larry Lee, her daughter-in-law, Betty Lee, four grandchildren and a great grandchild; siblings, Leola Garrett, Geneva Patton, Lois Grubb and Boyd Grubb.

Mrs. Lee had made Christ her Lord and was a member of the Highway Holiness Church.

The funeral service was held Tuesday, May 12th at the Highway Holiness Church with Bro. Bill Lee and Bro. Darrell Ragan officiating, burial in the Elk Spring Cemetery.

Expressions of sympathy should take the form of donations to the St. Jude-s Children-s Hospital.
