Obituary
'Gilbert Thornton Sumpter, age 85 was born in Wayne County, December 26, 1921 the son of the late Evelyn Sumpter. He departed this life Thursday, September 20th at the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital in Somerset, Ky.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Betty Jones Sumpter and two children Gilbert Tenety Sumpter of Shirley, Indiana and Cynthia Iris Sumpter White Collins of Cedarburg, Wisconsin. Also surviving is five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and his sister JoAnn Frye of Jamestown, Tennessee.
He will be sadly missed by his family and friends.

Saturday, September 22 from 11AM to 12:30PM in the Funeral Home Chapel
Funeral:
Saturday at 1 PM at the Elk Spring Cemetery Service Chapel
