'Goldie Holder Parnell, daughter of the late Emarine Bennett Holder and Zelma Holder, was born in Russell County, Kentucky on May 16th, 1919. She departed this life on December 21st, 2016 surrounded by loved ones at the Golden Years Nursing Home.

Mrs. Parnell married the late Algie Parnell June 30th, 1936 and to this union seven children were born. Of those children, five preceded her in death Kenneth (Connie) Parnell and Sylvia (Ingram) Parmley and infant sons, Selma, Olma and Danny Clinton Parnell. She is survived by two daughters Ethel (Garey) Turner and Shirley (Jeff) Spielman. Her children blessed her with eight grandchildren; Kendall (Tonya) Parnell, Wendy (Seth) Denney, Ellen (Eric) Vinson, Jenice (Ronnie) Turner, Tony Doss (Cindy), Terry Doss and the late Mischele Doss. She was the proud Great Grandmother of fifteen grandchildren; Lacy and Taylor Parnell, Lylah and Madelyn Denney, Jessie Doss, Jessica and Josh Jones, Kaitlin Turner, Amanda Foust, Nicholas Winchester and Colton and Cody Vinson. She had eight great, great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and many friends to mourn her passing. Mrs. Parnell was fondly known by her grandchildren as \u0027Granny Parnell\u0027 and she loved to reminisce about the olden times and share the family\u0027s history with her loved ones.

She had accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of the Piney Woods Church in the Parnell community.

Services will be at the Hickey and Son Funeral home on Friday, December 23rd. Family will gather at 10:00 a.m. and they will receive friends at 11:00 a.m. Funeral services to follow at 2:00 p.m. Brother Henry Stringer officiating with burial at the Turner Cemetery.
