Grace Alberta Jane Sparks Smedley of Monticello, Kentucky was born February 28th, 1946, and departed this life September 11 ^th , 2022, reaching the age of 76 years.

Along with her husband, Valis Edward "Sonny" Smedley, she is survived by three daughters; Ann Denney, Mattie Smedley, Sally (Gary) Clark, one special daughter; Jane Piercy, three sons; Jerry (Angie) Sparks, Valis C. (Jenny) Smedley, Brother Mike (Lynn) Smedley, one sister; Martha M. Foster, one brother; Letcher Gordon Sparks, twenty grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren, and a host of family and friends to mourn her passing. She was preceded in death by two sisters; Trevia Thomas and Nancy J. Sparks, and two brothers; Virgil Sparks and Harry Sparks.

Grace had accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior many years ago and was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church. She served her community for forty-four years as a bus driver for the Wayne County School System. She was also a cook at the Conley Bottom Marina restaurant for over thirty years. She enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved them dearly and they held a special place in her heart.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 15 ^th from 5PM until 8PM in the funeral home chapel. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 16 ^th at 1PM. Burial will be in the Elk Spring Cemetery.
