'Helen Maxine Thompson Dowdy was born January 18, 1949 the daughter of the late Jerry and Beatrice Denney Thompson. She passed away Monday morning, April 24th at her home in the Cumberland Manor Apartments reaching an age of 68 years.

She is survived by her children: Patty Lynn and her husband Robert New, Christopher \u0027Chris\u0027 Dowdy and his late wife, Barbara Sullivan Dowdy and Misti Shirley and her husband Larry Lyons.

Also surviving are her grandchildren: Latisha Sartain, Kaylen (Ashley) Harris, Braden Denney, Landon Denney, Taylor Sartain, Chance Leveridge, Amber and Karter Harris; her sister Erma Laws and brothers: Kirby, Ronnie and Billy Thompson; with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.

She is preceded in death by a grandson, Drake Sartain and siblings: Darlene Denney, Irene Thompson, Dallas and Eldon Thompson.

Helen had accepted Christ as her Savior as a young lady and became a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church and attended the Spann Hill Baptist Church and New Town Baptist Church.
