Obituary
'Homer Lee Thompson, age 77 was born in the Denney community of Wayne County, June 20, 1934 the son of the late Dewey and Laura Hardwick Thompson. He departed this life, Tuesday, January 27th at the Golden Years Nursing Home after an extended illness.
On January 30, 1960 he united in marriage with his wife: Marie Sue Young Thompson.
Also surviving are three sons: Herstel; Thomas and Mark Thompson; grandchildren: -Dink-; Bryan; Molly and Christeena; four great grandchildren and one sister: Josephine Smith.
He is preceded in death by his siblings: Alta Mae Russell; Dovie Dunagan; Floyd Thompson and two children, Roslyn and Evalene Thompson.
Home served his country with honor during the Korean War. He retired from the Monticello School System. As a young man he accepted Christ as his Savior and became a member of the Big Sinking Baptist Church and was a member of the Zion Baptist Church at the time of his passing.
