'Irene Gregory was born May 19, 1929 the daughter of the late Jefferson B. and Trudy Bell Gregory and her late step mother, Bonnie New Gregory. She departed this life Wednesday September 6th at the Wayne County Hospital reaching an age of 88 years.

On December 15, 1945, she united in marriage with Ruell D. Gregory who passed away January 29, 2014. To this 68-year union five sons were born: William \u0027Billy\u0027 Mitchell Gregory precedes her in death; \u0027Mike\u0027 Michael DeWayne Gregory; Jerry Allen Gregory; Gary Lee Gregory and Stewart Wayne \u0027Tony\u0027 Gregory all survive.

Also surviving are eleven grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and her siblings: Louise Dobbs, Beulah Mae Lloyd, Margie Watson, Herbert and Max Gregory with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends to mourn her passing.

She is also preceded in death by her siblings: Oneida Gregory, Ralph Gregory, Bobby Ray Gregory and Paul Gene Gregory.

Irene was employed for many years at the Gregory Shirt Factory and later was employed at the Monticello Walmart. She had accepted Christ as her Savior and was a member of the Canadas Creek Baptist Church.
