'James Ellis Alexander, age 88 was born in Monticello, April 8, 1923 the son of the late James Allen and Huldah Jane Sexton Alexander. He departed this life, Wednesday, May 4th at his home in Colonial Estates after an extended illness.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Phyllis Jean Bell Alexander: his son, Thomas Alexander: two grandchildren, Brian Alexander and Sharah Smith and two great grandchildren, Caleb Alexander and Ethan Smith.

Also surviving is his sister, Jean Wann and brother, David Alexander. He is preceded in death by his siblings, Agnes Martin, Elsie Nicholson and Sue Horton.

Jim served his country with honor in the Second World War in France and Germany and again in Korea during that conflict. He was a partner in Alex-s TV and Appliance and later worked as a loan officer at a local lending institution. He had accepted Christ as his savior and was a member of the Immanuel Baptist Church.
