'James Edison Criswell, age 86 was born in Wayne County, November 1, 1924 the son of the late William H. and Arie Simpson Criswell. He departed this life Monday, October 25, at the Thomson-Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, Kentucky.
Mr. Criswell is survived by his children: Anita Flynn of Monticello; Don Criswell of the Philippines and Doris Allen of Georgia. His children: Linda Cook; Marshall Criswell and Kim Criswell precede him in death.
Also surviving at 16 grandchildren: 19 great grandchildren: two great-great grandchildren; his sister: Ora Lee Frost and his brother: Ted Criswell with many nieces, nephews, other relatives and numerous friends to mourn his passing.
Preceding him in death are his siblings: Loretta Byrd; Lucy Saldmair; Edna Cole; Ralph; Floyd; Roy; Ray and Marshall Criswell.
He was retired from the Hall Lamp Company in Michigan. He served his country with honor during the Second World War in the Army. As a young many he had accepted Christ as his Savior and became a lifelong member of the Ellers Chapel United Methodist Church.
