'James Lloyd Cross, age 84 was born in the Susie community of Wayne County, December 14, 1925 the son of the late James Edgar and Lucy Simpson Cross. He passed away Friday morning, December 3rd, 2010 at his home with his family.
On May 10, 1946 he united in marriage with Anna Evelyn Horton Cross who survives. To this union one son survives, Ronald Lloyd and his wife Melanie Cross of Liberty, Indiana. His son Douglas Clay passed away May 23, 1977.
Lloyd is survived by his granddaughter, Whitney Anne and her husband Jon Mires of Highlands Ranch, Colorado. His grandson, Justin Blair Cross lost his struggle with cancer January 5th, 2005.
Also surviving are his great grandchildren, Elijah Blair and Asher Mires and step grandchildren, Victoria J., Natasha A., Paul J. and Christiana C. Bertsch.
His sister Katherine Brown is the last surviving sibling of a family of thirteen.
Lloyd was retired from Belden Wire and Cable where he served many key management positions in his 33 years of service. He was a Veteran of the Second World War and a member of the Harry Ray American Legion Post of Richmond, Indiana for over 40 years. He was a 35 year member of the Lions Club and a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church.
