'James Elic Ferrell, age 86 was born in Monticello October 5, 1931 the son of the late John and Nancy Simmons Ferrell. He departed this life, Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at the home of his niece.
On August 9, 1965 he united in marriage with Ruby Arthur who passed away February 22, 1990.
He is survived by his step-son, Jack and his wife Mary Webb and step grandchildren; Vicky Jones, Randy and Mark Webb.
Also surviving are ten nieces and nephews, 18 great nieces and nephews and four great-great nieces and nephews.
He was the surviving member of the John and Nancy Ferrell family. He is preceded in death by his siblings: Mary Arthur, Emma Ferrell, Roxie Flynn, Raymond and Billy Ferrell.
James had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Fellowship. He was a life-long carpenter and worked at the Anchor Motel for many years. He enjoyed the outdoors, loved his animals and was a long-time member of the Senior Citizens Center. He was always willing to help anyone and with his wit made many many friends.',
