'James Willard New, was born in the Cedar Hill community of Wayne County September 17, 1934 the son of the late Rufus and Margaret Morrow New. He passed away Tuesday at the Golden Years Nursing Home reaching an age of 83 years.
On February 4, 1961 he united in marriage with Ruby Jane Thompson New who passed away January 17, 2015. To this union three children were born: Coletta Edwards, Barbara Rose and the late Darrell New who precedes him in death.
Also surviving is his sister, Letha Parks; and grandchildren: James Rose, Cynthia Edwards, Chandra (Josh) Caldwell and Jeff (Natalie) Edwards and great grandchildren: Sadie, Logan and Evann.
He is preceded in death by his siblings: Nona Troxell, Zina Steele, Vina Silvers, Vernon, Arnold, Goldie and Cecil New.
Willard had accepted Christ as his Savior and was a member of the Elk Ridge Baptist Church.',
