'Janet Raines Guffey was born October 11, 1934, the daughter of the late Lee Roy and Eula Bell Daniel Raines. She departed this life Friday morning, December 9, at the Golden Years Nursing Home reaching an age of 82 years.
On June 12, 1953, she united in marriage with her husband William Bradley Guffey who precedes her in death. To this union two daughters survive: Debbie Guffey and Sharon Hicks both of Monticello. An infant daughter, Lisa Guffey precedes her in death.
Also surviving are grandchildren: Janessa Dawn Perdue Floyd and William Matthew Hicks and a step grandson, Ronnie Atkinson; great grandchildren: Jasmyne Patton, Lucas Patton and Madison Patton; and step great grandchildren: Sammie Atkinson, Shyanne Floyd, Christian Floyd and Westlie Floyd.
Janet was the last surviving member of the Lee Roy and Eula Bell Raines family. she is preceded in death by her siblings: Belva Hicks, George Raines, Willie Howard, Roy Rains Jr. Bobby Lee Raines and Lloyd Raines.
AS a young lady Janet accepted Christ as her savior and on September 10, 1961 she and her husband, Bradley united with the Davis Chapel United Methodist Church where she remained a faithful member as long as her health permitted.
