Janet Lair was born December 23, 1936 and departed this life Tuesday, March 3, 2020 reaching the age of 83 years. She was the daughter of the late Burton and Ala (McCutchen) Hicks.

She is survived by: 3 sisters, Mabel Hicks, Lucille Carrender and Lillian Teater; along with a host of family and friends who mourn her passing.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by: her husband, Hayden Lair; 1 sister, Irene Coffey; and 3 brothers, Hobert, Cosby and (infant) Cecil Hicks.

She was a member of Monticello Church of God and attended faithfully as her health permitted.

She was a loving sister, relative and friend who will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

A Graveside service will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 2pm at the Elk Spring Cemetery with Bro. Byron Creech officiating with burial to follow.
